Ohio Duathlon - SOLD OUT

The *new* Ohio Duathlon formerly the "Spring for SIDS" duathlon takes place on Sunday, April 27 at Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park in Galloway, OH - just outside of Columbus, OH. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the SIDS Network of Ohio. The event consists of two duathlon distances: Short duathlon: 2 mile run + 11.2 mile bike +2 mile run Long duathlon: 2 mile run + 22.4 mile bike + 4 mile run

All participants picking up their packets at RoadRunner Sports will be eligible for raffle prize of $120 apparrel gift certficate. Two certificates will be given away via a random drawing and announced before the duathlon start on Sunday.

Any packets not picked up in advance can be picked up on Sunday, April 27 at Battelle-Darby Metro Park.

Shirts & Amenities

All participants will receive an organic or sustainable soft-spun cotton shirt vs. a conventional cotton t-shirts or chemically-produced polyester technical shirt. For more details about our shirts, visit Greenswell Green. Athletes must be registered 10 days from the event date to be guaranteed an event shirt. Athletes registering within 10 days of the event date will need to sign an event shirt waiting list at athlete check-in and then check back after the race for shirt availability. Shirt size selected during registration will be the shirt size given you at athlete check-in. If the shirt size selected by you during registration is the incorrect size, you will need to complete a shirt size transfer list at athlete check-in. You will be required to check back after the race for size availability.

Event Rules

Participants must wear assigned bib tag number on the front of your shirt or shorts. Your number must be visible to checkpoint recorders at all times. The timing tag is attached to your bib so failure to wear your assigned bib will result in your event not being scored.  Bike Helmets are mandatory. No exceptions. If Bike Helmet and bike numbers have been assigned, they must be secured to equipment. Once the transition closes you will be required to display assigned race number to enter and exit the transition or remove any equipment. Non-participants are not permitted in the transition area for any reason. Transition closes promptly at stated time. No entrance into transition will be permitted after stated time. Once the event begins, vehicles will not be permitted to leave the park until the last participant has entered the bike course and exited the park.

Entry Fee

Entry Fees below do not reflect $12 one-day license fee for multisport athletes who are NOT members USA Triathlon. We are required to collect these license fees and pass them directly to the appropriate event sanctioning body. ALL non-members are required to pay the one-day license fee.

Greenswell participant referral program enables you to get part of your fee back for successfully referring participants to the The Ohio Duathlon and other Greenswell-owned events. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email containing your special referral link. Send this link to friends and for every friend that register using your special link, you will receive $5.00 referral commission *.

The Greenswell participant referral program is a great way not only for you to earn back entry fees, but if you are a coach, club program, charitable organization or a team, through the program you can earn money for your club, team or program through participation.

Referrals are paid out on, the 15th of each month once their balance owed amounts to twenty-five dollars. Referral program is a cumulative program and your referral commission from multiple Greenswell-owned events are added together.  Your referral commission as it is earned is placed into a third-party trust and paid out as indicated. Please note that balances less than twenty-five dollars are paid out after the Greenswell season ends per commission trust guidelines.

All finishers will receive a commemorative finishers medal. The top three overall finishers by gender and the top division finishers by gender are elgible to receive an award commemorating their experience. Only the top relay team will be elgible for commemorative award. Each member of the top relay team will receive a commemorative award. Award ceremony will take place at the event. Athletes must be present to receive award. No awards will be mailed or delivered. Participants who elect not to stay for the award ceremony will be referenced to the award policy.

From I-270 take the West Broad Street (U.S. 40) exit west. Go about five miles on Broad Street to Darby Creek Drive. Turn left onto Darby Creek Drive and proceed three miles. The main park entrance is on the right. Park as directed.

Duathlon Run #1 - The opening run of the duathlon will start on the Darby Center Green located across from the Cedar Ridge Picnic Area and travel on the Darby Greenway trail to the 1 mile turnaround and return to transition. The trail surface is smooth crushed limestone and flat.

Bike - All participants then begin the exciting bike portion ...  duathletes and relay bike participants will head out of Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park, turn RIGHT onto Darby Creek Rd, turn RIGHT onto Alkire Road and then turn RIGHT onto Gardner Rd. Athletes will take the scenic Gardner Rd to US-40 (W. Broad St) and turn RIGHT.  Take US-40 to Darby Creek Rd - turn RIGHT and take Darby Creek Rd back to park.

Short distance duathletes will re-enter the park and head into transition. Long distance duathletes will PASS by the Park entrance and complete a 2nd loop. Participants will re-enter the park after completion of the 2nd lap.

Duathlon Run #2 Course Duathletes will follow the same course as the 1st run onto the Darby Greenway trail - please note that the run course is *new* in 2014! Short distance duathletes will complete an out-n-back 2 mile run identical to their 1st run. Long distance duathletes will continue on the trail to the 2 mile mark where they will trunaround and head back on the trail and back to the finish line to complete their 4 mile run.
